Ian has many years of experience in Business Rates, having been a member of the rating teams at two large surveying companies (Gerald Eve and CB Richard Ellis) where he represented a diverse mix of clients, ranging from blue chip listed companies such as BP, Shell, Bunzl, John Menzies and M&S, to smaller single property operations.
He has successfully negotiated rates reductions on virtually every category of property, from standard offices, warehouse and shops in both prime and secondary locations, to more specialist properties such as self storage centres (for which he was involved in establishing the method of rating valuation for such properties), schools, car parks, oil depots, marinas and even local authority public conveniences!
As such, Ian is well placed to represent both Landlords and Occupiers in challenging any rating assessment or to offer strategic advice on any rating matter, on any property type, anywhere in the UK.
